Journal of the Korean Institute of Industrial Engineers

Article 1 (Purpose)

The purpose of these codes is to establish codes of ethics and standards to ensure that research involving the Korean Institute of Industrial Engineers (hereinafter referred to as the ""Institute"") does not impair the basic and social ethics of humans in the course of conducting research to achieve their research objectives.

Article 2 (Subject)

The president, executives and all members of the institute must comply with the codes of ethics for research.

Article 3 (Research Ethics)

1. Members shall be honest in their respective research. Honesty means honesty about the whole course of the research, such as driving ideas related to research, design of experimental methods, analysis of results, expenditure on research, the publication of research results, and fair compensation for research participants.
2. Members shall respect the copyrights of others and shall not publish all or part of others’ research or arguments in papers or reports, etc. as if they were their own research or arguments.
3. Members shall not seek unfair profits by using information acquired about research performance.

Article 4 (Disclosure of Research)

1. To the extent that research-related security is guaranteed, the members shall make every effort to ensure that results or presentations of research are of assistance to the research of other researchers.
2. Try to provide requests within limits, such as intellectual property rights or research-related security, when requested by another researcher after the research results are published.

Article 5 (Compensation for Research Related Persons)

1. Authors listed in published research results, such as papers, shall fulfill their responsibilities for the published results by understanding the contents of the research.
2. For official joint researchers or those who have contributed directly or indirectly to the research, the efforts should be made to make appropriate compensation according to efforts and contributions, such as presenting their names in the research results, while those who are non-contributive to the research in the course of the research shall not be given the authors' rights.

Article 6 (Plagiarism)

The definition of plagiarism is to arbitrarily use other people’s arguments or research results without clarifying the relevant grounds, even if intentionally unintentionally, or to copy much of someone else’s research results or arguments exactly without quotation marks, although they have given relevant grounds.

Article 7

The editorial committee of the relevant academic journal is primarily responsible for the submission of content already published in another journal, confirmation of whether plagiarism or not on papers suspected of plagiarism during the examination process, confirmation of details about sanctions. If there is a complaint against the violation of the code of ethics of the institute, the Ethics Committee shall be organized to determine the violation and disciplinary matters.

Article 8

The following sanctions may be imposed on research and authors that have been found plagiarism or unethical acts in the research of the members and in the research submitted to the academic journals, depending on the degree through the review by the editorial committee and the Ethics Committee.

1. Sending a letter of disciplinary action taken by the institute.
2. Requires deletion or modification of the relevant research results in the journal of the institute.
3. Prohibition of the paper submission of the study-related person for an appropriate period.
4. Loss of membership and demand for notification of details of research-related institutions for an appropriate period.
5. Exclusion of membership from the institute.

Article 9

If the same research is later found to have been published in duplicate with other journals, the same sanctions may be imposed as plagiarism.

Article 10 (Organization of Ethics Committee)

1. The Institute operates an Ethics Committee within the institute to review, deliberate, and decide matters related to research ethics.
2. The Ethics Committee shall be comprised of seven members, including one chairperson and one vice-chairman.
3. The Chairman of the Ethics Committee shall be appointed by the president of the institute from among the vice-chairmen of the institute, and vice-chairmen and members of the Ethics Committee shall be appointed by agreement between the chairman of the Ethics Committee and the president of the institute.
4. The Vice-Chairman and the Committee Manager of the Ethics Committee shall be elected by mutual vote.

Article 11 (Operation of Ethics Committee)

1. Responsible for the enactment and revision of necessary research ethics.
2. Deliberate violations of the code of ethics for the members and research that have faced a lawsuit and decide sanctions for violations.
3. Deliberate and decide the matter which has faced a lawsuit within 60 days from the date it is received.
4. The Committee shall maintain all security for the details and processes of the investigation and protect the personal information of those concerned during the Commission’s investigation period.
5. The Ethics Committee may take appropriate follow-up measures to restore the honor of the defendant or suspect if the findings of the investigation are free from suspicion or If the charges are cleared with sufficient explanation.

Article 12 (Deliberations by the Ethics Committee)

1. Research ethics-related matters raised about papers, plans, reports, etc. related to the institute.
2. Matters concerning the safety, privacy, and compensation for damages of subjects related to research.
3. Accusations raised about unethical research in relation to the institute.
4. Matters related to research ethics determined by the chairman.

Article 13 (Filing of a lawsuit by Ethics Committee and Duty of Suspect)

1. The Ethics Committee shall get autographs by at least three regular members to file a lawsuit.
2. Executives and members who have faced a lawsuit by Ethics Committee shall cooperate with the Ethics Committee’s investigation.

Article 14 (Duties of the Ethics Committee)

1. The Ethics Committee shall guarantee the rights of the person who has faced a lawsuit as a member until the results of its deliberations are decided.
2. Any person who has faced a lawsuit by the Ethics Committee shall have the right to fully explain to the Committee, and the Committee shall give it the opportunity to explain and refute.

Article 15

These codes shall enter into force on the date of the decision by the KIIE Council.

제 1조 (목적)

본 규정은 대한산업공학회(이하 “학회”라 한다)와 관련된 연구가 연구 목적을 달성하기 위해 수행되는 과정에서 인간의 기본적, 사회 공동 윤리를 손상하지 않도록 윤리 규정과 기준을 정함을 목표로 한다.

제 2조 (대상)

학회의 회장 및 임원과 모든 회원들은 연구 윤리 규정을 반드시 준수해야 한다.

제 3조 (연구자의 윤리)

1. 회원은 각자가 수행하는 연구에 있어서 정직하여야 한다. 정직성은 연구와 관련된 아이디어의 도출, 실험 방법의 설계, 결과의 분석, 연구비 지출, 연구 결과의 출판, 연구 참여자들에 대한 공정한 보상 등 연구 과정의 전반에 관한 정직성을 의미한다.
2. 회원은 타인의 저작권을 존중하며, 타인의 연구나 주장의 전체 또는 일부분을 자신의 연구나 주장인 것처럼 논문이나 보고서 등에 발표하지 않아야 한다.
3. 회원은 연구 수행과 관련하여 취득한 정보를 이용하여 부당한 이익을 추구하지 않는다.

제 4조 (연구 내용의 공개)

1. 회원은 연구와 관련된 보안이 보장되는 범위 내에서, 연구 결과물이나 발표물이 다른 연구자의 연구에 도움이 되도록 최대한 노력한다.
2. 연구 결과가 출판된 후 다른 연구자의 요청이 있을 경우 지적 재산권 또는 연구와 관련된 보안 등 제한 범위 내에서 요청사항을 제공하도록 노력한다.

제 5조 (연구 관련자 보상)

1. 논문 등 출판된 연구 결과에 기재된 저자들은 그 연구 내용을 이해함으로써 발표된 결과에 책임을 다하도록 한다.
2. 공식적인 공동 연구자 또는 연구에 직간접적으로 기여한 사람들은 연구 결과물에 표시되는 등 노력 및 기여에 따라 적절히 보상되도록 노력하며, 연구 과정에서 연구에 기여가 없는 사람에 대해 저자의 권한을 부여하지 않도록 한다.

제 6조 (표절에 관한 규정)

의도 또는 의도하지 않았다고 해도 관련 근거를 명확하게 밝히지 않은 채, 타인의 주장이나 연구 결과를 임의로 사용하거나, 관련 근거를 밝혔지만 타인의 연구 결과나 주장의 많은 부분을 인용 부호 없이 원문 그대로 옮기는 것을 표절로 정의한다.

제 7조

다른 학술지에 이미 게재된 내용을 제출하거나, 심사과정 중에 표절 의혹이 제기된 논문에 대한 표절 여부의 확정과 제재 내용의 확정은 일차적으로 해당 학회지 편집 위원회가 담당하며, 학회 윤리 규정 위반에 대한 제소가 있을 경우 윤리위원회를 구성하여 위반 여부 및 징계에 관한 사항을 결정한다.

제 8조

회원의 연구 및 학술지에 제출된 연구 내용에 있어 표절이나 비윤리적인 행위가 적발된 연구 및 저자에 대해서는 편집 위원회와 윤리위원회의 검토를 거쳐 정도에 따라 아래와 같은 제재를 가할 수 있다.

1. 학회 징계 서한 발송.
2. 학회의 해당 학회지에서 해당 연구 결과 삭제 또는 수정 요구.
3. 연구 관련자의 적정 기간 동안 논문 투고 금지.
4. 연구 관련자의 적정 기간 동안 회원자격 상실 및 연구 관련자 소속기관 세부사항 통보
5. 학회에서 제명.

제 9조

추후 다른 학술지와 중복으로 동일한 연구 내용이 게재된 것이 확인된 경우도 표절과 동일한 제재를 가할 수 있다.

제 10조 (윤리위원회 구성)

1. 학회는 연구 윤리와 관련된 사항을 검토 심의 의결하기 위해 학회 내에 윤리위원회를 운영한다.
2. 윤리위원회 구성은 위원장 1인과 부위원장 1인을 포함하여 7인으로 구성한다.
3. 윤리위원장은 학회 부회장 가운데 학회 회장이 임명하며, 윤리위원회 부위원장과 위원회 회원은 윤리 위원장과 회장의 합의로 임명한다.
4. 윤리위원회 부위원장 및 간사는 호선한다.

제 11조 (윤리위원회 운영)

1. 필요한 연구 윤리 제정 및 개정을 담당한다.
2. 제소된 회원 및 연구에 대해 윤리 규정 위반 여부 심의 및 위반에 대한 제재를 의결한다.
3. 제소된 사안에 대해 접수된 날로부터 60일 이내에 심의 의결한다.
4. 위원회는 위원회의 조사 기간 동안 조사 내용 및 과정에 대해 일체의 보안을 유지하고, 관련자들의 신상 정보를 보호한다.
5. 윤리위원회는 조사 결과 제소된 내용이 무혐의 이거나 충분한 소명으로 혐의 사실이 해소될 경우 피고발자 혹은 혐의자의 명예를 회복하기 위해 적절한 후속 조치를 취할 수 있다.

제 12조 (윤리위원회 심의 내용)

1. 학회와 관련된 논문, 계획서, 보고서 등에 대해 제기된 연구 윤리 관련 사항.
2. 연구와 관련된 피실험자의 안전, 신상정보 보호 및 피해 보상 관련 사항.
3. 학회와 관련된 연구의 비윤리성에 관하여 제기된 고발 사항.
4. 기타 위원장이 정하는 연구 윤리 관련 사항.

제 13조 (윤리위원회 제소 및 혐의자 의무)

1. 윤리위원회 제소는 정회원 3인 이상의 서명을 받아야 한다.
2. 윤리위원회에 제소된 임원 및 회원은 윤리위원회의 조사에 협조해야 한다.

제 14조 (윤리위원회 의무)

1. 윤리위원회는 제소된 자에 대해 심의 결과가 확정되기 전까지는 회원으로 권리를 보장한다.
2. 윤리위원회에 제소된 자는 위원회에 충분한 소명할 권리를 갖으며, 위원회는 소명 및 반론 기회를 부여해야 한다.

제 15조

본 규정은 이사회에서 의결된 날부터 시행한다.
